Bristow's Inn 1860 Historic Victorian Home

Come relax in our spacious bedrooms and comfortable shared areas. This unique Carpenter Gothic home dates to 1860 and is registered on the list of Canada's Historic Places. You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place, in the heart of Mennonite country, just a short drive from the Universities of Waterloo and Wilfred Laurier and the tech hub of Canada.

Each private room has its own en-suite washroom. Four bedrooms upstairs share a common area to read or relax, as well as a coffee station. The main level features a fifth bedroom, as well as the dining space, the parlour, and access to the private garden. A small kitchenette for guests offers a 24 hr coffee/ tea station, toaster oven, and microwave.

And bring your furry friend! We are proudly a pet-friendly establishment and welcome pets of all sizes.

Free parking on site. Close to Grand River Transit bus line. Our charming town has everything you need to enjoy your stay within walking distance: restaurants, banks, shops, cafes, the post office, and even an original Carnegie Library.

On the main street of a charming small town, only a 15 min drive from the Universities of Waterloo and Wilfred Laurier and a 20 min drive to downtown Kitchener and its tech hub. Close to St. Jacobs, Elora, and Fergus. Many walking/hiking trails, and close to the Grand River, offering many opportunities for outdoor activities.

All of Elmira's main amenities are within walking distance of the house: shops, cafes and restaurants, banks, the post office, and grocery stores. We are also on a bus route into Waterloo, which connects with the rest of the Tri-City area.

Guests at Bristow's Inn are welcome to enjoy main room amenities. Enjoy a meal with friends in the dining room, have a cup of tea in the lounge, or watch a movie in the living room. Guests are also welcome to help themselves to complimentary coffee and tea, available in the kitchenette. In the private side garden, guests will find a lighted dining area, perfect for social gatherings or relaxing with a novel, underneath the wisteria-covered pergola. The firepit is perfect for a late-night marshmallow roast and a glass of wine!
